OOTD: I joined an Indie Folk Girl Band

I am really loving all of the vintage florals. I hope that this trend sticks around a while. I feel like everything is so feminine and lady-like, and women are taking their time to look pretty and put together.

That being said, I am a sucker for the boho chic look too, and when I am in the mood, I like the edgy look too. But these vintage florals...they HAD ME AT HELLO.

Here is a little OOTD gem, featuring my dear friend Sunnie. I love this girl and you should check out her Tumblr here.

I feel like we should be singing Paula Cole or Natalie Merchant songs.
"Oh you get me ready in your 56 chevy
Why don't we go sit down in the shade
Take shelter on my front porch
The dandy lion sun scorching,
Like a glass of cold lemonade
I will do the laundry if you pay all the bills"

We are pretty loyal Torrid girls... so yeah, everything is Torrid, except I am not sure if Sunnie's boots are Torrid. Maybe 2 seasons ago?

Oh and remember when I said that we were having our Merry Mariachi X-mas party at work? Well our parties are usually themed and we are encouraged to dress up. Me, not ever wanting to miss a costume opportunity, went as an artist I truly admire, who was also married to one of my favorite artists (Diego Rivera.) I went as Frida Kahlo. What do you think?

Here is a pic of one of my good friends, Monique and me!

We had a mariachi band play at our office too. It was kind of neat... checking emails and pseudo working and then all of a sudden BAM! "Feliz Navidad..."

If I do not blog before Christmas, have a fabulous holiday and even if Santa did not give you everything your heart desired, remember that God... our creator... Mother Nature- what have you, gave us the ability to love. And love is the greatest gift you can give and receive.

xoxo,
Nik
