4 years

I try not to get all emo on my blogs, but this week has been very emo for me.

4 years ago today, I lost one of my most very best friends to a very tragic hit and run accident. 2 lives were lost that day, 1 life physically changed forever and 1 man sits in prison today for choices that he made poorly. I don't want to get too much into detail, because it was an awful accident and it's very hard to think about.

What I would like to do is post a beautiful picture of my dear friend, Lisa Marie Santee and give a few little insights as to who she was.

This was my 24th bday.

Lisa loved birthdays. She made them very special.
Lisa loved fashion and was pursuing her dream of being a designer, working for Guess and other big companies.
Lisa lived life to the fullest.
Lisa let her friends and loved ones, be who they were.
Lisa embraced the quirky, strange, unique.
Lisa would drop anything for a friend.
Lisa was fiercely loyal and stood by her friends.
Lisa loved to laugh and be goofy.
Lisa was game for anything.
Lisa loved beauty and found it in everything.
Lisa stood out like a bright star in a crowd.
Lisa was compassionate and knew how to relate to others.
Lisa was ambitious and driven.
Lisa was not the best driver.
Lisa loved a good joke.
Lisa was an eternal optimist and always searched for the best in people.
Lisa accepted everyone.
Lisa had 4 best friends... and all of her best friends knew that they were a best friend and we were totally ok with that.
Lisa loved to cheer people up.
Lisa loved purple.
Lisa loved good music.
Lisa loved to dance.
Lisa loved to take pictures in bar bathrooms.
Lisa loved fake tattoos.
Lisa loved Los Angeles.
Lisa loved to travel.
Lisa loved taking photos.
Lisa loved so hard.
Lisa is dearly missed by so many people.

I loved her very much.

Also, being that she was an optimist and I am a big optimist too, I wanted to share this. I just love what it says.

The Optimist Creed

Promise Yourself ...
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
